Application of solenoid valves on automotive industry.

Application of ordinary switch solenoid valve. The engine's inlet valve timing control system is a typical example of using the switch solenoid valve to achieve conversion control. According to the different speed and load of the engine, the screw connecting inlet CAM and CAM shaft make the axial movement by the hydraulic pressure, so as to make the inlet valve timing change regularly and realize the intake control. And it is compatible for high output and the increase of low and medium speed torque.

Fuel injector timing control system. The fuel injector is the most important part of the fuel injection system. It is installed above the intake valve, and each cylinder is equipped with an injector. The fuel injector is operated by solenoid. The signal sent by the electric control unit can open the needle valve in the head of the injector, and inject the precise amount of fuel into intake manifold and mix with the air before going into the cylinder.

Electronic control air suspension system. In the system, the switch solenoid valve is used to control the air in the system, exhaust valve at the outlet of air compressor and intake valve at the outlet of air container are controlled by solenoid valve. By changing the amount of compressed air and pressure in the air chamber to adjust the car height above the ground . In addition, the air flow between the gas chamber and the air container cylinder can be controlled by the solenoid valve on the cylinder so that to change the elastic coefficient.

The operating principle of the linear high-speed switch solenoid valve is to control the opening rate of the solenoid valve in PWM mode, when transmission frequency is about 100Hz, the proportional solenoid coils make the linear control of the valve opening. The valve may be actuated by using a pressure generated by the torque motor and nozzle baffles. There is noise when the pressure is high. It is necessary to pay attention to the coordinated response speed and precision of the load and temperature changes when using the open loop, but due to the structure is complex and it has a high requirement on the machining accuracy that led to high cost, and it also should pay more attention to oil management and the shift control of automatic transmission. In the hydraulics automatic transmission, when the hydraulic torque converter is connected to the rotor blades and the turbine blades, the pressure of the piston is slowly changing, so it can shift smoothly from the semi-clutch. The solenoid valve that controls the hydraulic shift is repeatedly on and off by the frequency of 5Hz to get the hydraulic pressure which is proportional to the load. As it is easy to achieve digital control, this method is usually adopted in the case of low precision and low response speed.

Pressure regulation of wheel brake. This solenoid valve is used in ABS anti-lock braking system to adjust the pressure of wheel brake. There are three hydraulic holes in the valve, which are connected with the brake master cylinder and the wheel brake cylinder respectively. When the solenoid valve does not work, since the connectors of brake master cylinder and each brake cylinder is interfaced, the main spring strength is strong enough to open the oil valve, and the brake pressure is increasing. When the brake pressure increases to a certain value, the inlet valve is closed and the bracket is kept in the middle state, the three holes are sealed to each other to keep the brake pressure. When the solenoid valve is working, the bracket can overcome the spring force of the two springs, open the unloading valve, and reduce the pressure of the brake cylinder, and the solenoid valve will be converted to the state of pressure maintenance or the preparation of the boost. The working state of the solenoid valve is calculated based on the signals sent from each wheel sensor by the electronic control unit, which analyzed and discriminated, then send output the instruction signal to the solenoid valve and control the working condition of the solenoid valve.

Application of linear solenoid valves. Linear solenoid valves should be used if the system requires high response speed and accuracy. In the front and back torque electronic control system of a four-wheel drive control system, a linear solenoid valve is used to control the pressure of the wet multi-plate clutch in the transmission device to obtain the optimal driving force distribution.

Electronic control power steering system. this system control the flow by by-pass flow of pump to adjust steering torque - hydraulic characteristics. The bypass flow control valve is composed of the variable throttle valve controlled by the linear solenoid valve and the control flow of the pressure compensating valve, which is proportional to the current in the solenoid coil, and it is not affected by the change of the pump pressure.

In addition to the above-mentioned solenoid valves in automotive applications, the idle speed control system, the ABS control system, and other engine control systems, chassis control system for improving the basic performance of the automobile, and the system of air conditioner, electric car windows and the like for the purpose of enhancing the comfort and convenience are widely used to implement the components of the solenoid valve, which greatly improves the basic performance of the automobile.
